It’s World Mental Health Day today (10 October). The theme for 2023, set by the World Foundation of Mental Health, is ‘Mental health is a universal human right’.
World Mental Health Day is about raising awareness of mental health and driving positive change for everyone’s mental health. It’s also a chance to talk about mental health, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to get help if you are struggling.
At Norrie Waite and Slater we see many of our personal injury clients become affected by psychological injury following an accident or traumatic event, presenting in the form of mental health issues such as anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder and depressive disorders. It’s also important to recognise that these symptoms don’t only follow a traumatic event. Mental health issues can also arise in everyday situations. Time stressors and pressures in the workplace, relationships, financial problems, moving home or the loss of a loved one. All of these having varying degrees of stress relating to them which can impact mental health.
We pride ourselves on supporting clients' through some of life’s challenges through the services we offer and support raising awareness of positive mental health.
