A year in the making of the new Dispute Resolution Department

This month we are celebrating the one year anniversary of the Dispute Resolution colleagues, Laura Thorpe and Sarah Tagg.

Laura and Sarah joined our Sheffield office in March 2023 and have since developed new client relationships and the scope of the department.

Laura is Head of the Dispute Resolution department and qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Legal Executive in 2009, following obtaining a Law degree. Over the years Laura has expanded her knowledge and expertise to a wide variety of matters gaining her the national award of Highly Commended for Legal Expert in 2019. Laura acts for both individuals and businesses on a range of cases from contract claims, property disputes, professional negligence and contentious probate.

Laura says, “I am passionate about solving disputes for my clients, in the most affordable way. It’s important to understand that disputes can often affect people’s daily lives and I help clients find a resolution that works for them.

I have enjoyed my first year at Norrie Waite and Slater handling some interesting and complex cases. The firm has a great work ethos, allowing me to grow professionally as well as expand the department to offer more services to our clients.”

Sarah has worked in the legal environment for almost 30 years and has a wealth of experience dealing with Personal Injury cases.  Since joining the Dispute Resolution department, Sarah has developed her expertise to assisting clients with small claim matters, debt recovery and possession proceedings.

Sarah says “My role at Norrie Waite & Slater is a very varied role and no two days are ever the same.  I am enjoying my time at Norrie Waite & Slater and everyone has been friendly and welcoming since I joined.  The firm has a good client care ethic and has many repeat clients across many of its’ ranges of services.”
